Welcome to Rotarians Easing Problems of Dementia
This is a joint initiative between members of various Rotary Clubs who have recognised the need for increased support in the community for families affected by dementia. There are 821,884 people living with dementia in the UK today, a number forecast to double within a generation.
We are proud to launch our Dementia Carers' Pathways booklet which aims to guide carers through and over the various problems they come up against when faced with having to care for a loved one. We also aim to keep Rotarians up to date on the various dementia linked initiatives with which they can become involved in their areas.
Rather than re-inventing the wheel we will also be sign posting some of the excellent existing sites that provide medical and practical support. Click on the words that appear as links and you will be taken directly to the relevant web sites.
We will also be offering localised information on professionals and tradespersons, available in different areas around the country, who are willing / able to help with those day to day requirements. This database is accessable via any combination of postcode, town and profession. If visitors to this site can recommend existing services in their area please contact us.
This is a young site and much of what we hope to provide is still at the development / construction stage. Please bookmark this site and return on a regular basis to see how things are progressing.
